The long-running sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men’ has always seen its share of hurdles when it comes to casting or writing. The show powered through some negative criticism and came out as one of the top comedies ever. The show made it through 12 seasons and we loved every bit of it. So if you have are a die-hard fan of ‘Two and a Half Men’, you might be surprised to know these unknown facts about the show.

Throughout the series, Sheen interrupted the filming of ‘Two and a Half Men’ because of rehabilitation, public remarks against the producers and various other issues. He went to rehab in February 2010 (Season 7) following charges of felony menacing, third degree assault and criminal mischief against his former wife Brooke Mueller.

In 2008, Charlie Sheen was confirmed to be one of the highest paid actors on TV and eventually reached the point of earning $1.8 million for a single episode. In 2011, it was officially announced that Sheen wouldn’t be coming back for another season.

Ashton Kutcher, who replaced Sheen on the show, was said in one episode to be an underwear model. In real life, Kutcher had once modeled underwear, and he also got a job modeling underwear in one episode of ‘That 70s Show’.

Charlie’s real-life father, Martin Sheen, appeared on the show as Rose’s father, who ends up stalking Evelyn.

Jon Cryer submitted a video audition recorded in London for the role of Friends’ Chandler Bing but it didn’t arrive in time for consideration.

Melanie Lynksey, who plays Rose in ‘Two and a Half Men’ had received an offer to be on another show called ‘Drive’. To deal with her departure, her character moved to London. When Melanie’s part on the show failed, the creators of the show brought her back.

Chuck Lorre has admitted being a big fan of British band UK Subs. The lead character of the original seasons (Charlie Harper) shares the name with the lead singer in the group. Despite the similarity, Chuck has also said to have named the character after film editor Charles Harper Yates, whom he worked with while producing ‘Dharma & Greg’.
