NDA, BJP, UDF lead as counting progresses across four states
Votes are being counted across four state assemblies, with leading alliances crossing the majority mark on tally in Assam, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Kerala, though declared wins remain limited at this stage. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat assembly, NDA has won 28 seats and is leading in 69 more, giving it a tally of 97. Congress and its allies are leading in 22 seats with no wins declared yet. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 7 in the state. In West Bengal, the majority mark stands at 148 in a 294-seat house. BJP has won 11 seats and is leading in 168, taking its tally to 179. TMC has won 2 and is leading in 104, for a tally of 106. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, where 16 seats are needed in the 30-seat assembly, NDA has won 13 and is leading in 5 more, putting its tally at 18 and placing it on course to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has won 2 and is leading in 3, for a tally of 5. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat contest with 68 seats won and 19 more in hand, a tally of 87 against the majority mark of 71, making it the tally leader well past the threshold. LDF has won 30 and is leading in 6, for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
