NDA, BJP, UDF lead across four state assembly counts
Counting is underway across four states and the early picture shows clear frontrunners in each. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat house, NDA has won 28 seats and is leading in 69 more, giving it a tally of 97. Congress-led opposition holds a tally of 22, all in leads. Independent and other party candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 7 in Assam. In West Bengal, BJP is out in front with a tally of 179 across 294 seats, having won 11 and leading in 168. The majority mark there is 148. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry, with a majority mark of 16 in its 30-seat assembly, sees NDA holding a tally of 18, with 13 seats already won and 5 in hand as leads. SPA has a tally of 5, while independent and other party candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 7 in the union territory. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat count with a tally of 87, having won 68 seats and leading in 19, against a majority mark of 71. LDF trails with a tally of 36, comprising 30 won and 6 leading. Independent and other party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
